A couple of weeks ago, I married MaryEllen and James — she is a professor of Spanish. A lot of the script was translated into Spanish, beautifully, by a friend of theirs.
At the end, a tall man from among the guests came up to me, shook my hand, and said: “This is my first wedding with a woman minister — and it has been absolutely wonderful! If this had been a Catholic wedding in the church, we would have had to listen to a long homily, and I would have been sleeping. This was beautiful.”
Thank you, universe!
