A special moment at one of my Saturday weddings! A couple who are truly interfaith — she is Christian, he is Muslim (originally from Morocco).
They had not seen one another that day before the ceremony. And now the pianist began to play the Wedding March. She appeared at the end of the aisle, with her uncle who was walking her in. This was it.
I announced “All Rise” — everyone stood. Sharon began to come toward us in her beautiful strapless white dress with a huge bell of a skirt. Her hair was up, she looked amazing.
I glanced at her groom, standing beside me. He couldn’t take his eyes off her, and as I watched, he began to cry. Softly, gently, the tears rolled down his face. His eyes locked with her, they were both beaming.
Moments like this was what make my work the best career I can imagine! YES!!
